We took a trip to Point Pelee. Our hope was to have a nice get away as a family and see some raptors while they migrated through the area.
In the visitor's centre we did many things. Austyn had a nice long talk to the park staff about raptors. Here the kids are listening to different sounds recorded in the park.
Along with learning about wildlife and history of the park the kids got to pretend that they were someone/something else.
There were some spactacular views.
It was a wonderful fall day. The leaves are just starting to change colour.
We traveled down to the Southern Tip of Canada. The kids were not allowed to go in the water. It is very dangerous to swim here. So Zoe took advantage of some great climbing rocks.
The kids also played in the sand while Daddy checked out the view with our binoculars. The picture just above this caption shows the tip of mainland Canada. There is a more southern point of Canada but it's on an island in Lake Erie.
Zoe did some more climbing.
Austyn did some rock throwing.
We didn't see many raptors but we did see many warblers, gulls and butterflies. It was a nice, mild, fall day and we enjoyed our visit to the park.
