Jumpy Toad!
This toad loved to jump. It was hard to get a picture of it at first. The funny thing is when Zoe put it down and walked away it would just sit there.

Barn Kittens
Austyn and Zoe visited their grandparents this weekend and the cats had kittens. They can't go in the drive shed anymore so they are kept on the back deck. Above are the first litter of kittens. The mom wasn't sure about us at first but didn't run away while nursing them.
The other litter looks new. They are so small. The mom was too timid to stay.

Tea Party
Zoe has started to get really into playing tea party. This is her tea party on the floor. She likes to use water and make deserts with play dough. She claims that cleaning it up is fun also since she can pretend that the tea party has been canceled.

Book Sharing Monday
Once I Knew A Spider by Jennifer Owlings Dewey is a beautiful story about a new mother who follows the life of an orb weaver spider.
During the last days of the woman's pregnancy she would sit in a chair by the window and discovered a spider making a web on the outside of the window.
She sits by the window after the baby is born and her family watch in wonder how the spider lives. They watch it catch insects, eat, and lay eggs. Something interesting happens when it gets cold and in the spring. My kids found this story interesting. It's a different way to learn about the life of a spider.
