More Lego Guns

Austyn made two more guns out of lego.

Painting

Zoe and I painted some spring pots. Both the pots and the paint are from the dollar store.

Austyn isn't a huge fan of painting so he just used tempura paint on his shoe box. He made some small pictures on the top and the underside of the lid.

Bike On Ice

This was last week. On the North side of every building the snow remains and it is melting fast. The walk ways are flooded all afternoon and in the morning it's frozen again. They still managed to ride their bikes on it.

Edmonton Rush Game

Austyn got to see an Edmonton Rush game for free.

 We went with him.

 Zoe loved the cheerleaders.

The introduction was cool. The Canadian Flag was huge.

The players on both teams did a great job with the exception of one fight near the end. A player was kicked out for the rest of the game. I heard it was something to do with an old team mate being transferred to the other team or something.

 We liked this sign.

Colorado Mammoths won.

Lacrosse Practice at Rexall Place.

Austyn has started lacrosse. One of the practices was at Rexall Place. Many kids showed up from all around the city. I missed out because Zoe had dance class. Daddy took these pictures.

Austyn is the one with the adult shirt size on.

They split the kids up into groups to practice on the surface all at one time.

Austyn is already one of the top players on his team (in my opinion). LOL! He is doing great!

He really enjoys it and meeting all new players here this year seems to be exciting for him.

If you've never heard of Rexall Place, it's the stadium that the NHL and the Pro Lacrosse players use for games.

Daddy was able to snap this shot just as the security guards were kicking them out of this secured area.

Here is Austyn by the Wayne Gretzky statue.

Hockey Tournament - Another Gold!

Austyn's hockey team signed  up for a hockey tournament.

If you remember how his play-offs went. His team won gold. They were undefeated during the whole year.

These are pictures from the tournament.

Austyn didn't score a goal yet but got many assists.

It was great to continue to see the kids and their parents after the season. Everyone was so excited to win the tournament. They were undefeated again!

Here they are listening to the anouncer talk and get read to give them their trophy and their gold metal.

They all look so confident standing their waiting.

He was so proud of himself!

The team posed for another picture together. They had so much fun this year and I can't believe that they won gold twice in one season. They all did so well.

Zoe watched with her friends from the stands.

Afterward we went to eat lunch with the team. The kids had fun playing in the play area. Look at how red his face got from running around.

Hockey here in Alberta is amazing. The interesting thing is that most kids play hockey and skate all year round. There are going to be some kids growing up in this area who will likely move on to be professional players. I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Book Sharing Monday - The Honey Jar

Rigoberta Menchu is a Nobel Peace Prize winner and shares Mayan childhood tales passed down in this book.

The pictures are great! They feel authentically Mayan.
