Animal Senses at the Royal Alberta Museum

We attended a course set up through one of our local homeschool groups. It was at the Royal Alberta Museum.

The kids got broken up into groups and went from animal to animal talking about different senses.
They learned what the animal might smell, hear... etc.

Afterward we got to look around the museum a bit, but we didn't stay long. Zoe hasn't been doing well when we go out. It's been difficult to do anything away from home. So, we had to go home. The above picture is a large Spider.

We really enjoyed what we saw and we want to go back for another visit sometime. These are some interesting beetles.

Zoe was getting up close for a good look at the large snail.

Book Sharing Monday - imagine A DAY

This book is absolutely stunning! It's called imagine A DAY by Sarah L. Thomson. and the paintings are by Rob Gonsalves.

All of the pictures are illusions that go along with the optimistic, creative vision evoked by the words. Each page and picture are to help you imagine a day when something absolutely amazing can happen.

I loved the above picture and the words that went with it.

imagine a day...
... when roots drink up rivers,
twigs tangle in clouds,
and a tree is a ladder
between earth and the air.

This picture reminds me of how Austyn imagines the things he builds.

imagine a day...
... when everything you build
touches the sky.

Videos

This is a common scene in our house. She filled up her camera in a few hours one day. Her favourite thing to do with it is make videos. We have movies of her singing, her messy room, the cats and much more.
