Transportation Co-Op - Cars

The Co-Op this week was on Cars (road vehicles). The kids made a car treat in the kitchen. They watched a movie complete with popcorn. They made a car air freshener and another craft. They played with a race track. They did experiments. They planned a city and road system. Some of these activities evolved into other things. The Co-Op was so much fun and it was the last one. Everyone seemed to want to stay. We were there into overtime. I think the kids will miss going. At least next week we will be getting together again for Christmas activities. It should be fun!

Preparations for the Project Fair

Austyn has chosen Legos to be the subject for the homeschool project fair. I knew it would either be Legos or Drag Racing (we own and race a race car). Here are some of the pictures we've taken so far to put on his display. Some of these items were inspired by The Batman Lego Video Game.

I'm not sure if Zoe can enter (might be too young) but if she can she may put her drawings.

Yes! He wants to draw!

Well, as some of you know, Austyn has no interest in anything that requires a printing, drawing, or colouring. He just never wanted to do it. Well, this week Austyn decide that he wanted to draw scenes of people. Some of the scenes seemed a bit disturbing to me because he is really into guns and police men and war right now, but I'm just so happy that he is drawing. This is a step in the right direction. He even bragged afterward that he is a really good artist now! I see this as a step toward writing. It'll come!

Zoe draws all the time and seeing Austyn do it is even more motivation for her.

Lego Room

We have been reorganizing our house. Well, I should say that I am. LOL! The Toy room use to be in this room. I wanted to make this Austyn's bedroom (Yes, he is still in our room), but Austyn wants the room that is currently being used as a spare room and office. I can't interrupt my hubby in his work right now. So, in the mean time, this room ended up being a Lego room. There are cars and Trasformers here too, but basically it's used as a Lego room.  It is common for Austyn to spend many hours a day here.

Christmas In Full Gear!

We've started our Christmas fun! We put up the lights on our house, have been listening to Christmas music, went to a community Christmas movie, Saw our community Christmas Lights, went to our parade, and put up our Christmas Tree. Some cookies and hot chocolate were made for the Christmas Tree decorating of course. This is just the beginning. Our focus all of this month is on Christmas and other Holidays this time of year. We are going to look at how people all around the world celebrate this time of year and about pioneers at Christmas time. I hope to make some decorations, cards, wrapping paper, etc... I think we will have some fun this month!
