Birthday with Homeschool Friends

Since most of Austyn's friends are homeschooled like us, we decided to have them over during the day while the other kids were in school. It was so much fun.

The kids just occupied themselves. The boys wrestled in the beginning. I guess this must be a male bonding thing? LOL. The kids found their own things to do. I went downstairs to see what they were doing a few times and on one occasion the two older kids were in our homeschool area pretending to be scientists. This transformed into one painting and the other working with clay. Two of the kids were having a heart to heart chat and playing with another child on little cars on the basement floor. The other two kids were upstairs playing with lego. The two littlest ones were with their moms who were all together chatting upstairs. After all homeschool moms need to have some socialization with each other as well.

It was fun and when we all had left-over cake the kids decided to decorate their faces with the icing. My hubby was in the kitchen at the time snapping shots of them having fun.

One family couldn't make it because they had a cold. We'll get together with them another time when everyone is well.
