We are leaving soon! Road-schooling vacation, again!

Well, we've finished up what we could of our library books. We have finished any outstanding activities around the house (except some lap-books that I'm bringing). I've gathered some things to learn about where we are as we travel the highways through some states. I'm cleaning and packing. We'll be ready to go in no time and hitting the road! We'll  have so much to share when we get back. I think that I can keep the kids busy enough in the van so that they don't drive us batty.

I know, I know, you are wondering why we are going again, so soon. Didn't we just get back from a vacation? Well, we did. But we didn't accomplish what we wanted the last time. We hit bad weather and didn't get to see a very highly anticipated shuttle launch. So, back we go to do some more fun, educational things and hopefully with better weather.

We have one thing holding us back now... Austyn has the flu. I hope he is over it soon. My hubby is the only one who hasn't gotten it now and we need him to drive. So, I made him a vitamin drink with oregano oil in it today. I hope that does the trick.

Have a Happy Easter Everyone! Happy Egg Hunting!

“We will never be an advanced civilization as long as rain showers can delay the launching of a space rocket.” ~ George Carlin

Eggs - Day 2

We finished off our egg study with three experiments, dying the egg shells and using them to make art and book mark mosaics. I just want to try and laminate the book marks before using them. We had fun!!!

"Easter is also celebrated as a non-religious holiday that is derived from Pagan customs related to the arrival of spring. As most people know, today's traditions have evolved from these ancient customs to include Easter egg hunts and bunnies." ~ Unknown

Inspiration!

Austyn likes to make just about everything out of items laying around the house. After shooting off more rockets at the park he decided to create his own rocket. The top pictures are of our rockets shooting up earlier that day. The smaller rocket is much faster and goes much farther compared to the orange rocket. (Zoe just had to be in the picture so he hugged her... or is that choking... LOL!)

Book Sharing Monday

Zen Shorts by Jon J. Muth is a story of wisdom for young people to help them understand some of the ways of Buddha. This book is a story about three siblings that receive a visit by a panda bear (complete with a panda bear accent) by the name of Stillwater. Stillwater teaches them about many things; luck, feelings, kindness, giving, and more. There are so many things, even for older children, to think about in this story. I can't wait to pick up another one of the books from this series. We will be reading them soon if our library carries them.
