Austyn got this Earth for his birthday. He loves it! Yesterday we mixed the seeds with water and it had to sit overnight. Then 24 hours later (tonight) we spread the seeds on it and filled it with water. The watering was so slow that I finally decided to take the top off to speed things up. It looked great after it was all done. After filling it to the line we have wait 3 hours for the water to absorb into the sponges and then we have to drain the water out. We need to do this everyday and spray it with water when it needs it. In a few days we should have plants growing on our earth. This was a good purchase for us. It was on sale and it is related to the movie Earth by Disney that was released on Earth day this year. We also have the DVD game. I recommend both.
If you get this one... be sure to not pull the plug while it's sitting in the green container. The container isn't large enough. We had water all over the counter and running all over the floor. LOL!! I have found that the best way to get the plug out while not affecting any of the seeds is to sit the globe in the kitchen sink, take off the lid and stick a long screw driver into the globe pushing the plug out from the inside.
